PORK QUALITY ASSURANCE PLUS®

No one better understands the importance of pork quality, safety and responsible production than we do. Our way of life and our livelihoods depend on it. We live where our operations are. Our children breathe the air. We drink the water. We are proud of the fact that our industry contributes significantly to our communities' economies and well-being. Responsible farming and good corporate citizenship are central to our industry's mission.
 
The PQA program was conceived as a process by which the entire pork industry could continuously improve its practices. Accordingly, the program has been regularly reviewed, revised and improved. Today, the program, now known as Pork Quality Assurance Plus (PQA Plus®), features the 10 Good Production Practices in its training manual. While PQA Plus maintains its strong food safety tradition, it has been expanded to provide the training producers need to measure, track and continuously improve animal well-being. There is no end to the process of continuous improvement; pork producers will continue to adopt advances in their farming practices in keeping with the industry's commitment to responsible pork production.
